Phokophela Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd (PIH) was established in 2003. It is 100% Black owned company and has since 2012 refocused its core business on Information and Communications Technology (ICT) as Phokophela ICT Academy.
In Phokophela ICT Academy we believe that a first class career demands a first class qualification.
Inspired by the changes in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) environment, Phokophela ICT Academy spearheaded the development of a world-class specialist ICT training facility to address the skills shortage within the ICT industry in South Africa.
Phokophela ICT Academy is determined to produce competent individuals, who can address the ICT skills shortage in South Africa, by maintaining quality standards that are industry recognised and accredited. Lack of human capital has also been found to be a serious constraint for smallholder farmers. They are often illiterate with poor technological skills, which can be serious obstacles in accessing useful formal institutions that disseminate technological knowledge. The majority of smallholder farmers are not capacitated with financial and marketing skills and are unable to meet the quality standards set by fresh produce markets and food processors. Lack of production knowledge leads to lower quality in production.
It is against this background that since December 2017 Phokophela Investment Holdings (PIH) realised that Smallholder farmers can play an important role in livelihoods creation amongst the rural poor and then decided to play an important role which is to skill youth and unemployed rural people in agriculture so as to address the food security among the rural poor people and also increase their income. With all these challenges in mind, PIH decided to venture into agriculture skills development so as to produce competent individuals , who can address the agrarian skills shortage in South Africa, by maintaining quality standards that are industry recognised and accredited.
